Barro Group values our positive working relationships with the Mt Cotton community including residents who live near our quarry.
We regularly communicate with local elected representatives, community groups, residents, businesses and schools near Mt Cotton Quarry about our operations. Information about any changes at the quarry are provided to affected parties before they occur. We also host educational tours and provide learning resources for local schools.

Community Reference Group
Barro Group has established a Community Reference Group to enhance our communication with local people about Stage 1 of our extension project and general quarry operations.

Visiting the quarry
Member for Springwood Hon Mick de Brenni has spent time on site to find out more about the quarry extension. The Minister was interested to see that about 3,300 native trees and shrubs have already been planted on site as part of the Stage 1 extension and that this will increase to more than 32,000 over the life of the extension project
