Community Engagement

Our engagement activities

Barro Group values our positive working relationships with the Mt Cotton community including  residents who live near our quarry.

We regularly communicate with local elected representatives, community groups, residents,  businesses and schools near Mt Cotton Quarry about our operations. Information about any changes at the quarry are provided to affected parties before they occur. We also host educational tours and provide learning resources for local schools.

Community members are welcome to contact our team at Mt Cotton Quarry during business hours if you have any questions about our operations.

Visiting the quarry

Member for Springwood Hon Mick de Brenni has spent time on site to find out more about the quarry extension. The Minister was interested to see that about 3,300 native trees and shrubs have already been planted on site as part of the Stage 1 extension and that this will increase to more than 32,000 over the life of the extension project
